My husband and I built Big Island Hog Farm with our own hands, one day at a time, guided by faith, love for our keiki, and a deep respect for the ʻāina. This isn’t a backyard hobby farm. This is our life’s work — a working, growing, generational farm committed to feeding our local community here on Hawai‘i Island.
Today, we raise a herd of over 130 pigs:
60 mothers (sows), 60 growers, and our boar line that we have carefully selected over time for strength, gentleness, and excellent growth. We raise our pigs in deep-litter bedding, with clean space, natural feed supplements, and daily hands-on care. Every pig here is seen, handled, and truly known.
In Hawaiian culture, ʻāina isn’t just “land” — it is a living relative. We honor that truth every day. The way we feed, the way we steward our soil, and the way we care for our animals is rooted in keeping balance with the land that feeds us.
Our keiki are part of this story too. They walk alongside us, carry feed buckets, learn how to plant, care, clean, and take responsibility. This farm is shaping them — and one day, it will be theirs to steward forward.
We also support other local families and homesteaders by offering healthy piglets for breeding and for growing out clean, home-raised meat. We believe that everyone should have access to nourishing food and the ability to feed their family with dignity, quality, and heart.
From our ʻohana to yours — mahalo for supporting local food security, real farming, and a future rooted in aloha ʻāina.
